Nowadays, it has been widely debated that all wild animal species should be protected, while other argue that only some of them need protection. I firmly believe that all wild animals should be protected, since they all play a significant role in the entire ecosystem.
On the one hand, there are individuals who consider that it is not necessary to protect every wild animal. They think that we should pay attention only to endangered species. Governments and other organizations have limited resources and money, thus they should focus on species which are closer to extinction. For instance, animals like tigers, pandas, and bisons require more attention and special care because their numbers have decreased dramatically in recent years, due to illegal hunting, changes in climate or habitat. Therefore, concentrating on particular species of animals will prevent them from disappearing completely and could be a more practical approach to save wildlife.
On the other hand, all wild animals should be protected, whether they are endangered or not. Firstly, every species plays an essential role in the balance of the ecosystem and food chain. The fading away of a certain animal type will contribute to chaos and have a negative effect on others. As an example, if predators such as wolves disappear from a particular area, the population of animals they hunt will increase sharply. These animals can cause external pressure on forests, farms and affect other species that also depend on plants. Protecting all wild animals helps maintain and keep healthy ecosystems and prevent future environmental issues .
To conclude, although some people believe that we should only concentrate on saving some wild species, the argument for protecting all animals is more compelling, in my opinion. Every species has an important role in nature, and losing even one species can disturb the balance of ecosystems.
