For the past 2-3 centuries, the world has been becoming a more integrated place, and the recent decades, in particular, saw the biggest changes in many countries, especially in terms of economics and culture. Many people believe that globalization is responsible for many postive changes, including better economies in numerous countries. However, some other people also claim that there are negative sides of globalization that must not be neglected. I strongly agree that globalization helped the world in economic terms, but there is enovironmental and cultural demage of this phenomenon, and there must be solution so as to guarantee a sustainable future.
Globalization assisted in the economic development of many countries worldwide. This happened since globalization encourages economic collaboration, where countries engage trade and open businesses abroad. States such as china, India, Singapore and Malaysia can be great examples of when globalization contributes to the development of the states economic potential. According to various sources, avarege per Capita income in these countries increased because of new economic opportunities, meaning globalization has a direct effect on how happy people are. Thus, globalizations economic contribution cannot be ignored, which means we cannot refer to globalization as something absolutely negative.
As for the negative affects, globalization is infamous for the envoirmental demage it caused. Since countries are engaging in more trade worldwide, human activities, in general, are on the rise. There is more transport used and more natural resources depleted in many regions on a global scale. Because of this climate change is a bigger problem now than 3-4 centuries ago, when the world was not as connected as it is in the 21st century. In addition to the envoirmental aspects, cultural repercussions must b mentioned as well . To be specific, in the current era of globalization, a few powerful cultures are becoming even more superior, with language such as English being used predominently, while many other unique languages die out annually. The same can be said about customs and tradition that are being forgotten as people grow up under the influence of a few powerful nations.
In conclusion, it is clear that globalization, in fact, does have its advantages and disadvantages. However, I believe it cannot be stopped but certain measures will help regulate the effects of globalization. For instance, in order to avoid more environmental issues, alternative sources of energy must be prompted, and deforestation must be ceased. In terms of culture, goverments around the world have to create special programs that are aimed at preserving nations heritage and teaching the younger generations values that are passed down from generation to generation
