With technological advancements facilitating easy access to educational resources, there has been a surge in global interest in higher education in recent decades. All people need to be eligible to enroll in higher education programs, irrespective of their degree or level of academic competence. This point of view is totally flawed inasmuch as participation in such programs requires academic proficiency and an academic program where all applicants are accepted may lose its importance.
First of all, academic competency is a prerequisite for participation in educational programs. To put it another way, a person’s contribution to society or the nation may be quite low if they lack the talent for the universities and colleges they wish to attend because their level of learning will be lower than that of other talented people. To cite an instance, without any expertise in learning and recalling information, a student admitted to the history faculty may find it difficult to continue their studies and hence is unable to make a meaningful contribution to his own society. That is why it is crucial that competence is severely needed due to its efficacy.
Secondly, students accepted regardless of their abilities can destroy the importance and prestige of that field, which means that indiscriminately admitting individuals to university or college programs, regardless of their academic aptitude, can dilute the academic standards and prestige associated with such institutions. The proper example would be California Technical University. It is highly probable that the university, which has an extremely low acceptance rate, accepting every student will cause it to lose its prestige and respect around the world since this is the feature that distinguishes it from others. Consequently, maintaining stringent academic standards for admission is essential to uphold the credibility and reputation of educational institutions.
In conclusion, I strongly disagree with the contention that academic skill is necessary to participate in such programs, and an academic program that accepts all candidates may become less significant. More demands about any issues can lead to reduces their values
