Environment is one of the huge global problems that affect directly human lives. Many solutions are introduced with a hope that they can solve this big math. Among these ideas, some people believe that encouraging everyone to use fewer resources is better than recycling more. From my perspective, I agree with this statement.
Using less is the easiest way for people to reduce the amount of waste. For example, in terms of clothings, instead of buying a lot of fast fashion items that is easily outtrend, an individual can choose a high quality item that is elegant and simple to wear for a long time. By this way, they can control the quantity of clothes in their closets and do not need to constantly worry about how to dispose of the out-of-fashion items.
On the other hand, using fewer resources is much more applicable for an individual rather than recycling. Some argue that it is quite difficult to recycle a household item because of the aesthetics. The old item may be not in a good appearance and a good condition to be reused. It will take quite a lot effort to utelize the old thing. For that reason, modern people, especially the young ones, opt for the minimalist lifestyle. They try to limit the number of products in their house, which both helps enhance the house beauty and and reduce a considerable quantity of waste.
In conclusion, recycling is an useful method of conserving the Earth’s resources, but using fewer resources is an optimal way. If everyone started to limit their daily product consumption, the world would soon observe a lively green planet reaching the sustainable development.
