In recent years, playing computer games has been increasingly common among kids, and it affects their physical and mental health adversely. This essay will look at the reasons for this and propose some suitable solutions.
One concern in terms of physical health is the damage for children’s eyesight. Having played five or six hours, their eyes are damaged automatically due to long screen time. If it consistently occurs, they may tend to see the objects unclearly. After this, they tend to wear glasses which designed for vision after their eyesight got dim. To address this problem, parents can give alternative facilities to their kids, such as offering several types of sports: football, basketball, or even chess. These facilities tend to engage children in spending time on more beneficial activities rather than playing computer games.
Another main issue for mental health is changing sleep hours falsely. Children tend to play video games any time of the day, whether it is night or day time. Consequently, this disorder can lead to wrong sleep adaptation, adversely influencing their mental health, such as sickness, faint, or even not recognizing their family. Tackling this issue, screen time can be restricted with limits by their parents. For instance, these young people play video games maximum three hours, and automatically their computers turn off by their parents, or warning is popped up on computer screens while children are playing.
In conclusion, although there are two main issues: failing sights and several diseases which are related to the physical and mental health of kids, attracting them in sports and limiting screen time can be possible solutions for these problems.
