Nowadays children spend an excessive amount of time on computer games, which in turn affect their physical and mental well-being. This essay will discuss the main problems caused by this action and will suggest some possible solutions.

One devastating consequence of spending too much time on computer gaming is that it can negatively affect children’s physical health. This is because during gaming kids usually stay in the same position for hours, and prolonged sitting may lead to serious problems with posture and blood circulation, which in case can reflect even in their sleep patterns. Furthermore, immoderate gaming can also impact children’s mental health. As kids spend most of their time online, without real interpersonal interaction, they may struggle to socialize in ordinary life. Eventually, difficulties to socialize can cause high level of anxiety or sometimes even depression. Evidentially, too much time on computer gaming harms kids’ physical and mental state.

A possible solution to these issues could be parental approach. First of all, the disastrous outcomes of excessive gaming could be explained to kids by their parents, because children tend to stop doing something when they understand the root of the problem and how it can harm them. Other than that, parents could limit their offspring’s screen time and get more involved in their daily life. By controlling kids’ time on computer gaming, parents could engage them to do more beneficial activities together, which could prevent negative outcomes. For instance, in China parents engage their kids to play tennis together, thus limiting their screen time. So, parental involvement could be essential in solving those problems.

In conclusion, excessive computer gaming is a serious issue, as it affects children’s both physical and mental health. Nevertheless, it could be solved with parental effort and involvement.
