Nowadays, politicians tend to build new infrastructures and expand them to prevent traffic congestion. While this solution is a common way in various countries, preventing traffic is not achievable by this solution. I strongly believe that constructing new infrastructures is not an essential way to tackle the traffic problems in long-term period. In this essay I will outline several reasons that highlight the significance of building and expanding roadway system and why I think this way is not adequate for traffic problems in the future.
In the one hand, adding new roadways and widening them is not long-term solution. Initially, the amount of population is soaring. Therefore, individuals will need to use more personal cars, resulting traffic congestion in the future. Additionally, the number of people, immigrating to developed cities are increasing. Thus, people will drive more cars in the roads and highways. Finally, if politicians invest in public transportation system like developing railway, it will be more crucial for a crowded city than roads.
On the other hand, this solution is a short-term way to prevent traffic problems. In each duration of time, numerous highways and roads are built all around a country in order to reduce traffic density. While this is a vital way to prevent traffic, such as accident, it is a short-term solution because of the increasing ate of population in the most countries.
In conclusion, constructing and widening roadways is an essential way to decline traffic congestion. However, this is a temporary solution and without other methods such as concentrating on railways, solving traffic problems is not attainable.
