It is true that fewer and fewer individuals now write using a pen and pencil. Personally, I believe that the benefits of increasing computer use for writing far outweigh its drawbacks.
On the one hand, embracing innovation has pivotal disadvantages that should be considered as well. A principal drawback is the loss of the ability to write by hand. If people completely rely on devices, they may lose the ability to write on paper. As a result, people who cannot easily write by hand may be at a disadvantage. One good illustration is that studies have shown that when humans stop performing any type of work, they lose this ability after some time. Another disadvantage is dependence on devices or eye and other health pitfalls. Specifically, people usually chat or communicate with others using smartphones. For this reason, individuals may overuse gadgets. To exemplify, teenagers who use devices 24/7.
To begin with the benefits, it should be mentioned that the first and perhaps most significant merit is saving money. When people write by hand, they use paper. As a result, individuals have to purchase paper or notebooks for writing. By way of illustration, students spend a lot of money each year of study at school or university. The second advantage is more up-to-date technology in this sphere. When innovations are helpful, they improve technology for humans. As a result, equipment will offer more convenient opportunities. To cite an example, technologies are often improved to make life easier in the future; as a consequence, writing or typing on computers will improve. A further advantage is saving time. Because young people prefer using phones and computers for typing rather than writing on notebooks or paper. For instance, like other teenagers, I always prefer typing to writing by hand.
In conclusion, despite security concerns and difficulties of assimilation, the transition from handwriting to typing is advantageous in terms of freedom and educational prospects.
