Band 4: For school children, their teachers have more influence on their intelligence and social development than their parents. To what extent do you agree or disagree? (User-Written IELTS Writing Task 2 Essay)

Many people said that school is children’s the second home, and teachers are like their parents. That reason why, many suggestions that teacher have more inﬂuence on children’s intelligence and social development than their parents. However, in my opinion, I do not agree with it.

Nowadays, teacher have a lot of inﬂuence to the children, they are the one who teach children from the knowledge to social skill. Because children spend most of their time in day at the school so they have more chance to interact with their teacher. In addition, many parents could not spend their time with their kids at home, so children need to ﬁnd another exemplar. That reason why teacher may know more about children than the parents and deeper intervention in children development. For example, kindergarten students normally listen to their babysitting and teacher more than their parents.

However, on the other view, parents still are the one who have more inﬂuence on the children. Firstly, they are the one who creating the children’s lifestyle. In some family, children need to follow their parents rule in the lifestyle or some children are just copy their parents. For example, hobby, habit and the time table. Those are very important factor that effect to the children’s intelligence and social development and create their personality . Secondly, it is hard for children to understand their teacher, because most of the time they meet each other are in the school where is the teacher’s workplace. Meanwhile, it is easier for children to ﬁnd the connection in their family members, so they have more inﬂuential on the children.

In conclusion, both teacher and parents have an important role in children’s develop, but for many reason, children could learn more things on their father and mother.
