During these days, teachers have become crucial roles not only in academic aspect but also in social lives of students rather than their parents. Although different people have different ideas, I firmly agree this opinion.
On the one hand, having said that the first teachers of a child are his or her parents. This is because children tend to live with their parents before school (until five years) since they were born. Thus, they have to acquire basic knowledge from their father or mother, such as how to speak their native language, how to walk, how to write basic alphabets and numbers and so on. In addition, they may live with their parents after high school, so they will be under the control of rules and regulations of their parents. Another one factor is that home schooling is becoming popular among western countries. As a result, home is their school and parents are also their teachers, so their developments depend only on father and mother.
Even thought parents are able to teach the principal concepts of a subject, I believe that they cannot perform as a teacher because teaching method is not such an easy way. After graduating, a person who would like to be a teacher, has to join teacher training school to acquire not only for teaching methods but also for Child Psychology. Therefore, he or she knows very well to steer children to chase their dreams. It is evident that there are numerous numbers of schools, institutions, colleges and universities in the world. This means that the lives of students rely on their teachers than their parents to a degree.
In conclusion, although it is impossible to be a brilliant and outstanding student without help of parents and teachers, I am strongly convinced that a teacher can elevate a pupil’s educational and social skills more than parents.
