Some individuals believe that students should be allowed to choose the subjects they want to learn, while others think this decision should be made by the government. This essay will discuss both side of the argument and give my opinion.
On one hand, giving public officials the liberty to decide the courses that should be taught in school is beneficial because history lessons can be included in the curriculum. This will enable to transfer of knowledge from one generation to another, thereby preserving vital information. For instance, the nationalism I studied in primary school helped increased my understanding of another culture how greeting to foreign people. Furthermore, it is a good opportunity to teach rights and liberties, thereby protecting of the citizens.
On the other hand, allowing students to pick what they want to study helps focus learning on the discipline of their choice, and this is more effective to preparing them for future practice. Additionally, learners already know their need. Giving them the opportunity to choose which they are interested in and capable of doing will improve academic success. For example, a recent survey of students at high school will be happier in their university life, if they can choose to learn in advance before enhance to college.
In conclusion, I my opinion, learner should be allowed to choose courses which they have interested in. But they can choose when they are study in university level. Also, it can help learning on what students need to respond in the labor market.
