Forests are crucial for the survival of all living things on the planet. I strongly believe that deforestation is one of the immense threat to the wellbeing of all living things on Earth because they are essential for maintaining the balance of nature.
First and foremost, forests are the habitats of many wild species of flora and fauna which are essential for the regulation of climate, the purification of air and water and the provision of food and natural resources. The trees absorb and use the carbon dioxide as a primary source of energy, which is a toxic waste produced from the industries and automobiles and it has hazardous impacts on the health of the humans. Moreover, the roots of the trees act as a natural barrier against soil erosion and landslides due to storms and flood, protecting the coastal communities from extensive destruction and property loss.
Deforestation is a devastating event that is happening all over the world because of the rapid expansion of civilization and agriculture. Excessive logging for timber and fuel also plays as a main motive for the destruction of forests. Subsequently, many forest lands are threatened and thus, accelerating the effects of global warming and climate change.
In conclusion, forests are the lungs of the planet in addition to being the reservoir for food and the protectors against natural disasters. The destruction of the woodland will eventually lead to the collapse of human civilization and the policy makers and the authoritative bodies must prioritize the conservation of the nature’s greatest gift.
