It’s believed that friends and family are more important for happiness than material wealth. In my opinion, I fully agree with the statement.
Certainly, money is a necessity in today’s materialistic society, with the fast speed of urbanization, there is a constant increase in the price of almost everything. When they have the money they can cover their basic needs which a crucial life including house, vehicles, consumer goods, food, and education. So money and possessions are the most basic when they want to settle down for a happy life. In addition, they need money to take good care of their family and maintain friendships. Also, they can share happiness with people who live in poverty by donating money. However, sometimes material wealth has a very negative influence on them. For instance, many people have a material life that is too dependent on money and they miss out on many important and meaningful moments in their life.
On the one hand, family and friends are central to happiness because they are the people walking with you in your life. The researchers show you are more joyful when you spend time with familiar and loved ones. Moreover, the moments become more special when you enjoy them with people you love. That the moments can’t be bought with money. Not only do close friends and family bring happiness to you, but also they want you to become better and better. They are always ready to help you and give you useful advice when you need it. Healthy families and friends are a place, called “home”, you can come back after a long day facing difficulties in society. The sadness and stress will have decreased by the time you share and be listened to by loved ones. Also, you do not feel alone when you have them by your side.
In conclusion, for all the reasons mentioned above, I believe that friends and family bring more happiness than money and possessions. That also is a reason why we must cherish loved ones instead of chasing (running after) material things.
