The world has developed extensively in various sectors within the past few decades. Although many constitutions have given equal rights to individuals irrespective of their genders, there are still some parts of the world that fail to treat individuals equally. In my opinion, the main reason for this behavior is bitten thoughts among the people which can change by education. In this essay, I will provide detailed points to support my notion.
To commence with, the primary reason for failing to give equality to both genders is their upbringing. The individual learns and follows the values that they have acquired during their upbringing whether they are cultural or religious values. To suppress and ignore women’s thoughts is a historical trend in some cultures that is deeply rooted among individuals. That is the reason that people are not open to giving independence to women. The recent protests in Iran are one example where religious men are putting many restrictions on women in the country to follow specific types of dress codes.
Probing further, into the possible solutions that can be taken to address this issue. Arranging education campaigns in such areas can create a difference in old societal thoughts. In the education camps, examples of successful women can be provided so that men can start treating women equally. To bring a change in the future, schools should educate students on the effects and importance of gender equality. Additionally, legal laws for equal rights should be implemented by the authorities on the world level.
In conclusion, the traditional norms inherent among individuals are the major cause of discrimination for different genders. I believe education and imposing strict laws to support women’s rights can change the thought process of society.
