Publication of criminal images in newspapers or social media can lead to negative consequences, so it should be restricted. Even though it contains some fear of insecurity around their public , individuals can increase their caution and security in the community. I completely disagree with restricting due to there are some pivotal reasons in order to support this point.
On the one hand, individuals are aware that their living area lacking safety. Some offenses can continually occur if the crimes are not arrested. When not appearing on newspapers or TV, offenders can not feel guilty and continue that illegal action in the future, it leads to residents feeling insecurity and increasing their caution on daily life. For instance, a jewelry store is attacked by some property crimes and this behavior is not handled, it leads to victims feeling worried about their life and jobs. Therefore, when crimes are announced on social media or newspapers, residents who live in this area can receive safety and security.
By contrast, giving detailed descriptions of crimes in newspapers and on TV helps viewers be aware of illegal situations and increase their security. With the development of education, teachers or parents can transmit knowledge about violations of the law to children so that they can avoid committing the same criminal action. When individuals access information about the crimes living near the community, they can increase precaution against this illegal situation. For example, in Japan,people read newspapers and find petty thieves appearing in their area, they will warn relatives and always hang out together. Therefore, appearing crimes on TV or newspapers that help residents increase security and act against them.
In conclusion, it positively affects residents by increasing security when individuals access information about illegal crimes. The crimes continue this action when giving detailed descriptions of crimes in newspapers or TV is restricted.
