In recent years, the question of whether or not countries should be possessive of their local culture and avoid global integration has been the subject of public debate. From my point of view, each nation should represent their own culture and avoid assimilating different cultures in order not to lose our identity.
On the one hand, it is apparent that cultural heritage has a crucial role in reinforcing our self-identity. If we lump each nation together, there may be a risk of losing our originality and traditional values. Furthermore, it is undeniable that other nations may overtake our heritage. For instance, nowadays, Turkey has been undergoing serious hurdles in holding onto its own cultural heritage, as it assists a vast majority of different nations, like Arab nations.
On the other hand, the exhibition of multiculturalism may affect our image and it may provoke false informations about us. Notably, children can be confused about certain norms, like traditions. Furthermore, this may lead to altering certain knowledge that everyone should be aware of. Citizens who have been living in a diversity of nations may start believing their culture no longer exists. Likewise, this situation may influence every domain, such as the tourism sector. Albeit the facts that we have our own history, displaying values of different nations may cause confusion.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that each nation has an impact on their lifestyle. Hence, we have to strike a balance between different nations, and it is clear that countries should be alter civilization according to their own society.
