Band 5+: Government should reserve positions for women. What extent do you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

It is often argued that the policymakers should reserve a specific portion of high-level jobs for women. I completely disagree with this idea because I think these jobs should be given as per the performance so that the deserving candidates get the desired positions.

First of all, reserving a number of portion might be a sense of misjudgment to the deserving people. Some people work hard to get a top-level job. But if the job givers reserve these positions for women as a quota, it would be very unfair to them. For example, many talented people are not getting government service jobs in Bangladesh for this quota system. So, personally, I think establishing quota leads to misjudgment to the talented job seekers.

Secondly, these this idea may cause frustration to other people. To add more, some people will be unable to secure a job instead of having good quality and talent. However, at the same time less talented women will get a job easily which results in frustration in male candidates. For instance, our school authority rejected a candidate having a foreign degree but selected a woman for this position as per the reservation policy.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that there should be no quota system not only in the high-level job but also in the low-level job and ensure the fair judgment while selecting any candidate, which helps to build up the motivation and gives a sense of proper judgment as well as clarity to everyone.

Countries with a long average working time are more economically successful, but they are also likely to suffer from negative social consequences. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

It is often believed that people working long hours help their countries achieve rapid economic success compared to other nations. Although working longer hours can make a difference, I largely disagree with this perspective, as economically successful nations often rely on technology and automation instead of human labor. This tendency, by the way, leads to […]

Opinions are divided on whether activities of children must only be educational. Some individuals assume that they must be education-related otherwise they are unnecessary.
