People have different views on whether there should be demanded special taxes on food with sugar due to the terror of diabetes, or whether it is not a good idea because certain families may not afford them. Both of these schools of thought could be true in their own right, but I agree with the former opinion.
On the one hand, if governments introduce extra payments, or increase their prices, this may assist in decreasing the rates of diabetes. That is to say, sugar is a substance that can easily exacerbate this disease. If individuals consume more than enough, they will definitely encounter and suffer from it. In this circumstance, families’ tendencies might be depleted, and the probability of enduring diabetes would also diminish. Taking into account societies that prefer chocolates, their health might be protected via this trend.
On the other hand, it might bring tremendous issues among the communities. In simpler terms, there are numerous families who lead lives under the poverty line, and due to financial problems, they will buy these products rarely. Provided that their prices are artificially increased, these individuals would never afford them. Including, but not limited to, sugar might cure diseases related to the blood, and there are several children who need to consume chocolate due to issues in their blood circulation. In this situation, those who are not able to buy them may deteriorate in their condition.
In my personal perspective, increasing the price of these products will bring disadvantages to the communities. In light of this fact, while they may prevent some health problems, there would be an increase in the gap between wealthy and poor people. In other words, governments may prevent these diseases with other methods, for example, by warning people about the negative sides of sugar; however, poor families will not afford them in essential situations, and their differences with wealthy societies may be clearly apparent.
In conclusion, although this idea may prevent the threat of some serious illnesses, it could be difficult for certain people to buy them, and result in the appearance of a gap between poor and rich individuals as well.
