There is a common belief that authorities should make an attempt to encourage sustainable energy. I am totally in agreement with the mentioned viewpoint since it could maintain global supply as well as mitigate the bad influences of pollution.
To begin with, renewable energy plays a crucial role in preserving the environment. Specifically, clean energy sources including solar, wave, wind, geothermal and nuclear release less harmful substances to the environment than fossil fuel. For example, according to recent surveys, the amount of C02 emissions from fossil fuels was 20 times higher than that from renewable energy sources. Hence, governments can effectively curb environmental deterioration and control CO2 emissions by adopting eco-friendly energy sources.
Another benefit worth mentioning is that using sustainable energy could ensure global energy supply. To be more specific, the over exploitation would lead to inevitable depletion of fossil fuels. Thus, encouraging renewable energy could avoid a global energy crisis and meet future demands, fostering a sustainable planet. Take Norway as an illustration, this nation is the largest producer of “clean” energy, where 98.5% of the energy produced comes from renewable sources. An abundance of affordable hydropower in Norway has enabled the development of energy-intensive industries and a high level of electrification of homes and businesses with limited GHG emissions.
In conclusion, Iam believe that the government should encourage residents to use more clean energy instead of fossil fuel. This is not only to mitigate the adverse impacts of pollution but also meet energy demand worldwide, contributing to a sustainable planet.
