Today, some argue that governments should help retired citizens with caring and financial support, while others think that these amounts of money should be paid by elderly people. From my opinion, while the elderly should handle their bills, governments should support them due to the humanitarian responsibility.
On the one hand, workers should save money for their old age as this is their responsibility and the budget of government is limited. These people, who is able to work, earn their salary when they are younger, so they need to plan these money to cater for themself. In addition the number of elderly people is remarkable so the government cannot spend all the financial budget on their healthcare fees and their pension. This budget should be expended on different crucial purpose such as the development of the economy and education and the elimination of poverty. Therefore, each citizen would be responsible for their retirement planning and save their financial savings in order to spend when they get old.
On the other hand, I side with proponents of the expenditure of government on the old generation because of their contributions to societies. Living in a nation,the elderly used to be the workforce of the economy. This means that they were contributed to the growth of their country for a long time before being retirement. Not only helping but also taking the responsibility for paying tax and other kinds of services that citizens pay each year. Therefore, when those people are unable to work, government need to support them by giving care and retired salary as a way to express the respect for their dedication and the morality of a nation.
In conclusion, elderly people should have the budget of their own for their retirement because the government can not afford the whole bills of them. However, I believe that it is essential for the government to helping these old people in some extent and this action can show the humaneness and gratefulness .
