Some people today argued that graffiti should be considered as art. Some skillful and complex forms of graffiti take great artistic skills to design and carry out. In my opinion, although it might be different from the usual forms of art, it can also be seen as an art.
A fundamental argument in support of this view is that graffiti improves the look of our streets and our transport systems such as on trains or buses. Also, good graffiti pieces are colorful, vibrant and attractive. In addition, the advanced forms for graffiti brightenup the old parts of the city which are ugly, dull and uncared for. Moreover, some spectacular murals have become tourist attraction for example an alley between two apartment buildings on which graffiti pieces are created.
Furthermore, appreciating graffiti as arts can mean giving young artists better opportunities to develop their skills. The reason is that graffiti pieces are usually done by people who see their work as art and themselves as artists. Besides that, government need to create more spaces for graffiti artists where they can develop their spray can skills without breaking the laws. In this way, they would have time to polish their work to a high artistic standard.
In conclusion, the more complex the pieces of graffiti the more a person requires considerable artistic skill. As a result, those graffiti pieces can make our streets and public areas more attractive. Additionally, accepting the graffiti as an art gives talented young artists chances to contributie their creative skills to their communities.
