There is no doubt that young peers nowadays are more prone in acquiring a University degree than completing courses like electrical engineering or construction .Personally I feel like having a skill under your wings in 2024 gets you a job faster .
Overall the world’s economy has improved , leading to more families having financial freedom .Thus young adults are joining universities rather than working at an early age.Surveys conducted in recent years show only a small proportion of the population without education .However a new dangerous phenomenon has emerged . Countries and officials are bringing foreign workers in order to finalise projects and to make up for the insufficient workforce they lack .This occurrence has detrimental effects in the development of any region.
A major downside is that mediocre students are getting rejected as employers look to hire those that have an edge over the others.Also students that study away from home must work in order to pay the bills ,which limits their ability to perform and be at the top of the class.
It is notable to mention that artificial intelligence has a wide range of capabilities and is being used in both private and public sectors. This is considered a threat by graduates because they do not see themselves as competent as artificial intelligence.Generally this won’t let students to unwind as they will be stressing about their future.
I believe that the advantages of acquiring a degree over a skill do not fully outweigh the disadvantages .The only solution is to have a backup plan which will help people unwind themselves in this ever changing world
