Nowadays, social media is everywhere: in education, in entertainment, science, etc. Artists share their pictures on Instagram, singers create videos on YouTube, and readers post their book reveiews in TikTok. Is that greate? Definitely? Does it affect our everyday life? Of course. In my opinion, that’s art too, and when it becomes common and popular that’s make happy, but nothing simple as it to seen at first sight.
On one side, social media truly can help make reading as manifest. Starts from 2022 reading has become a popular hobby in whole word. I’ve started to read books in childhood, but thanks to TikTok and YouTube I’ve started to read more. Now books everywhere, you can find them even in grocery shop or in convenience stores. A lot of people read not only popular modern literature, but also classic literature.
In another side, some people buy books only because that is popular. They aren’t enjoy reading, they hate spend time with them, but since it is popular they continue do it. Situations like this make me upset and dissapointed. One more example of social media affect to reading are rules: you should read quickly, set bookmarks and read about 100 books per month. That’s looks sick and a lot of people just leave book community because you can or can’t love this or that book.
In consequence, social media really made people more interested in books. They develop echonomics in their countries, share modern and clasic literature in each genre. However, at the same time reading has become as just temporary popular hobbie. As I feel, social media really help to fall in with books, but they also can collapse reading as art.
