Nowadays, hosting international sporting events like the Olympic game is a topic debate. Some people think it gives significant benefits, while other people think it is unnecessary financial burden. I discuss the both view and give my opinion.
One hand, hosting the Olympic can boost the local economy by, increasing tourism, creating jobs, attract the international investment like, hotel, restaurant, and businesses benefit from of the visitors. Also increase the sport development investing sport facility and training programmes can encourage the youth generation, youth athletes, to participate in sports. Another positive effect is infrastructure development. The host country can improve roads, public transport, sports facility, which can benefit to the local community after the event ends.
On the other hand, hosting the Olympic some time lead to disadvantage. Host country spend the billions of dollars for infrastructure, security and event management. Many host country suffered with debt after the event ends. Sometimes environmental impacts are on the host country like, large-scale construction, deforestation, pollution and habitat destruction. Sometimes local people have to move from their house because, make way for Olympic infrastructure, leading to social issues.
As per my view, while Olympic bring prestige and shot term economic gains, and the financial and environmental problems cannot be ignored. But sometimes host country plan for long term to use Olympic venues after the event and long term think for financial resource these can be beneficial.
In closing, Olympic game sometimes bring benefits host country but sometimes bring disadvantages to host country. Hosting the Olympic is success depend on the how country manage its resource and planning.
