It is believed that people celebrate holidays in honour of notable individuals or events. In my view, if I had a chance to create a new holiday, it would be in honour of all activists who fight against pollution and on that day, people all over the world would clean their cities or hometowns.
To begin with, it is clear that the state of the environment has been rapidly deteriorating due to water, air, and environmental contamination. Moreover, some people do not care about ecology, and throw away waste and rubbish wherever they want. As a result, a large number of activists go to rallies and stage uprisings, demanding the government to improve the situation. Some of them were injured, and some even died. That is why I have a strong willingness to make the holiday in honour of everyone who fights for the environment.
Speaking of the celebration of the event, individuals would go outside early in the morning and clean different places from thrown garbage, especially in frequently polluted areas, such as parks and embankments. Afterwards, they would sort out the gathered trash and hand over it to special recycling centres. In addition, those who are able to swim, seafarers, or those who have boats would clean lakes and seas.
In conclusion, this proposed holiday, honouring environmental activists and promoting global cleanup efforts, offers a powerful way to combat pollution and foster collective responsibility. It would transform gratitude into action, inspiring communities worldwide to actively participate in safeguarding our planet for future generations.
