Parents should be held responsible if their children are obessed. I strongly agree with the statement and I will explain why in this essay.
To begin, I have strong reasons to support why I believe mothers and fathers should be held accountable for allowing their youngsters get obessed. Firstly, they are responsible for their nutritional care. This is because, if the children are fed with the right types of food, which contain enough protein, minerals and vitamins, it become impossible for them to be overweight, especially, if they are not genetically predisposed to being over sized. Thus, those that have been over feeding their young ones with over processed food products that contain to much carbohydrates or sugar should take responsibility for their actions. For example, my sister’s son who is overweight has been having many health challenges, such as high blood sugar level, heart diseases and difficulty in respiration, as diagnosed in the hospital by the doctors. So he was referred to a nutritionist, who while interviewing the parents, discovered that he eats mainly sugary food because of the sweet tastes and they were seriously blamed for that. But after adhering to a diet pattern prescribed for him, his weight normalized. Furthermore, some families allow their domestic staff who might be ignorant of nutritional care to decide what the minors eat, hence, exposing them to nutrition induced health problems and obesity.
Not creating opportunities or time for their sons and daughters to engage in physical exercise is another reason why mothers and fathers should be held responsible when their children have weight issues. Since medically, exercise is one of the means one can get ride of excess glucose and toxins, which may constitute some health hazards in the body, therefore, frequently exercising can be significantly beneficial to a child’s health. However, many familie focus more on the academic performance of their offsprings more than their well-being,thereby discouraging outdoor games that would have helped keep their size under check, consequently, making them overweight.
In conclusion, I firmly argue that parents should be made to undergo some disciplinary measure for allowing their young ones suffer obesity since it is their duty to feed them with the right types of food and also to encourage them to engage In out door games which would have helped them maintain normal size.
