There is an ongoing debate on whether or not marketing those products, which have already gained public’s support and attention, is a necessary step forward to ensure their progressing popularity as a brand or if such products do not require any further promotion. In this essay I’ll discuss both sides of this argument.
Firstly, consumers expectations have significantly increased with the rise of different approaches in marketing and the overall boost in economy. Nowadays, rules in brand’s positioning has toughened and it gradually became troublesome for business owners to keep up with entertaining its customers. One clear example is a worldwide famous beverage company, Coca-Cola. The organization has already gained immense popularity on the global scale years before, nevertheless, marketing team doesn’t cease to promote the brand, working on further advertising campaigns. Such devotion seems to have a strong influence, since Coca-Cola’s revenue is growing rapidly year after year.
However, consumers attention is of a flexible and intermittent nature. Loosening company’s positions on the global market leads to colossal downfalls, therefore, creating a one in a lifetime opportunity for its competitors to take the lead. In addition, advertisements create a sense of familiarity with the brand, it is a human factor, well-known in marketing as well as psychology domains. Consequently, people often lean towards products they’ve seen before on TV or ones that someone has introduced.
To sum up, the further promotion of the well known brands is a necessary step forward for ensuring the enterprise’s future growth and development. With tough competition, it’s important to stay in a zone of visibility for usual consumers, otherwise the leading place might be taken over by the opponents. However, some may argue that advertising is merely a tool for large companies to keep up with the recent trends and adapt according to the intermittent demand of their customers, advertising also helps fostering and establishing connections between the company and a consumer.
