Due to increasing digitalisation, some suppose physical books and libraries has become less necessary than it used to be in the past. However, I support the view of other group, which believes that they still play a significant role in acquiring knowledge, preserving cultural heritage and gathering its enthusiasts.

One of the main reasons why reading physical books and attending libraries might be not as common among the public as it would be a couple of decades ago is that, nowadays, people can easily access the vast majority of books by using their digital devices and having stable internet connection. As a result, going to a library can be considered as a waste of their time, and, instead, they are more prone to read a book through their digital devices rather that to attend a library. For example, many students can read the books related to their concentration via smartphones or tablets.

Despite this current trend of increasingly opting for reading online, physical books remain essential for educating and preserving sentimental value of a certain culture. Moreover, it can be the primar driver for communities gathering to discuss a certain theme taken from a book. This is because, for some individuals, learning new information with physical books may be substantially easier as they tend to immerse themselves in a topic much more. This can be attributed to a lack of distraction such as social media installed on digital gadgets. For instance, some ought contend that reading physical sources of information including books is more effective for gaining new knowledge because they wouldn’t get distracted by online sites or other content coming from their phones.

In conclusion, even though some believe, reading physical books and visiting libraries are becoming obsolete due to technological advancement, I agree with others, who consider it as an indispensable tool because of more effective learning and essential aspects such as saving cultural heilrooms.
