Nowadays people prefer not to talk with neighbours. This tendency leads to disruption of a community. From my perspective, this could be caused by a fast pace of life. Citizens don’t have time to talk with each other. Despite the fact that they are used to living in a crowded areas, people feel separately. Overall, It promotes the decreasing of connections between them and badly effects on the emotional state.
There are several reasons why society are live divided. The crucial one lies in the isolation of individuals in the modern life. They have to rush everyday to get to work on time and come home after it to do household chores. As a consequence, people are absorbed by routine and duties. It is physically impossible to maintain a work-life balance.
The other reason that contribute to people possibility to chat with neighbours is a kind of accommodation we own. In recent decades, a significant shift has been observed globally, with suburban inhabitants relocate to the metropolises. Annually in Russia the recorded migration contains near 150 000 people on average. It means that sprawling cities are full of isolated flats. Whereas in the rural areas locals live together in the villages. Their housing are standing in an open areas, that promotes close communications between neighbours.
I tend to believe that the most great example of close-knit relationships are located in the cottage settlements. People keep an access for the whole city’s amenities, but live in the houses with shared yards. For instance, they could celebrate mutual holidays together, such as Halloween or Christmas. I hope that in the future this infrastructure of cities would help neighbours to talk to each other more.
In conclusion, structure of housing in the metropolises force people to communicate less. Flats are not adjusted for shared leisure. To tackle an issue, authorities could build neighbourhoods that looks like suburban.
