It is indeed becoming increasingly prevalent for people to avoid the use of private cars and instead prefer to use public transportation for traveling. In this essay, I will show the potential benefits and possible drawbacks of public transport use.
There are many positives as to why people are more likely to choose public transportation when it comes to traveling. Taking a bus or a train can be economical for personal budgets, as many people cannot afford to buy a private car. For example, car owners complain that the cost of fuel is very high, so they choose public vehicles when traveling to save money. Furthermore, public transport is much more eco-friendly compared to cars when it comes to producing fewer greenhouse gases. For instance, buses use less fossil fuel per person compared to the amount of fossil fuel used by cars for a single person.
Nevertheless, public transport is not without drawbacks, as in many places, the transportation systems are unreliable. Delays of buses are common in many countries, causing small problems, such as long waiting times. In particular, people are often late for special occasions as a result of waiting for a bus or train. On the one hand, poor comfort conditions of trains, such as inadequate air conditioning systems and uncomfortable seats, often make passengers feel drained when they travel long distances. As a result, many people choose cars for trips because they have already encountered uncomfortable situations.
In conclusion, although for some people, the use of trains and buses has many advantages, others do not agree due to the downsides of public transport.
