It is often argued that people with significantly high annual incomes should pay income tax accordingly. I strongly agree with this statement, income tax is used for the development of our country in all sectors. It benefits us all as a whole society so its is necessary to contribute accordingly.
To begin with people who earn minimum wage cannot be expected to pay very high income tax, paying 15% or more of their yearly income becomes tough for some families due to may reasons but for people who have very high yearly income, paying a considerable amount of income tax should not be an issue. By doing this they can help people in need and the society has a whole. In addition there are plenty citizens who are jobless for unspoken reasons, so by paying extra tax the higher income people can also assure disaster relief and emergency shelter, education, healthcare and public utilities for the ones in need. This also applicable for disabled, homeless people who do not work, as humans they deserve equality which the government can assure with the help of the extra income tax.
However according to some people income tax should be equal for all because it is benefitting us all as a whole and that a certain group of people paying significantly extra is unfair, regardless of their annual income. They want a percentage to be fixed for all the citizens so that everybody is able to pay their part of income tax without an issue and that people with higher income should help out the people in need by giving out donations and doing charity.
In conclusion I firmly believe that high income people should pay maximum amount of income tax and help our country’s economy because not all of the high income citizens will be interested to give out donations or do charity. Instead it would be beneficial if the government puts out a rule that ensures, according to the annual income of these citizens they will be required to pay a significant amount of income tax. This will contribute to the to long-term development of our society.
