Nowadays, many people have opportunities to work from their home. Although this trend can have some drawbacks, such as less communication with other people, I believe that the advantages exceed the disadvantages because employees can save time and work from almost anywhere they choose.
One major disadvantage of working at home is the lack of communication with other people. People may feel lonely because they do not have regular face-to-face conversation with other employees. As a result, they may lose one’s edge of communication skills, and sometimes it can give rise to becoming more teamwork challenging. Another drawback is that it can be hard to separate work from personal life. For example, some people can continue to work even if the working hours are coming to an end because their workplace is at home.
Despite these disadvantages, working from home has several pluses. Firstly, it saves a significant amount of time and money because employees do not have to travel from one place to another every day. They can use their extra time for a rest, family or other activities. Secondly, working from home can be very flexible. Employees can organise their working environment and take short breaks when it is necessary, which may help them reduce stress and enhance productivity. Furthermore, people can work from every place that they need, even from the beach, so it is also very beneficial in many aspects.
In conclusion, working from home can lead to problems such as loneliness and difficulty separating work from personal life. However, I believe that the advantages, especially saving time and having greater flexibility, exceed the liability.
