In today’s contemporary world, the there is an ever-increasing debate over the issue concerning the extended working hours that pose mental problems such as stress for workers. Some argue that the government should minimize the time went on working to reduce the stress. In this essay, I will be a proponent of this perspective and will provide reason reasons for my stance.
To begin with, it should be acknowledged that there are few resting days, particularly for employers in most of the Asian countries. They work from the morning to the afternoon that make them feel quite tired. In addition to this, when they want to go home after a hard work, their children can interrupt them while they recharge their batteries for a new working day. However, children want to play or make a communication around the table with their parents, but unfortunately, parents would be obliged to reject it due to their tiredness. As a result, there is a possibility of children to become isolated and it can significantly affect to their social bonds. Thus, the disadvantages of aforementioned motion overshadow an alternative implication in a long-term perspective.
Furthermore, every individual has a right to have a vocation with their family or friends. However, a mere resting day per week can be insufficient for this. The main reason for this is that when people relax, they can be better equipped for their work again. This will drastically influence the work quality and there would be a probability of employees to be promoted.
In my opinion, only though imposing strict laws, can government lessen the stress of workers. For instance, in some developed countries like USA, there is a harsh restriction to word longer hours. Otherwise, workers can be punished by the government.
In conclusion, considering all the above stated suggestions, I completely led my support on this view owing to its detriments not only employees, but also for their children in terms of their relation. Therefore, I firmly believe that the governments must take an immediate action to eradicate this growing issue.
