In recent years, the price of fast food has decreased, while its demand has steadily increased. Fast food is convenient, easy to consume, and widely available. However, I do not fully agree that this trend is positive. If this continues, it could lead to various health problems and have a negative impact on people’s lifestyles.
On the one hand, eating fast food requires little effort from the consumer. Fast food takeout and delivery services are available in nearly every part of the city. For example, if you are in a hurry and have limited time, junk food offers a quick solution. This method also helps consumers save money. As fast food chains expand, prices are likely to decrease, benefiting customers. Convenience meals are generally cheaper than traditional meals, making them a cost-effective option for many.
On the other hand, eating junk food can be harmful to both individuals and society. Fast food consumption contributes to various health issues. For instance, every year, thousands of people around the world suffer from obesity, many cases of which are linked to fast food consumption. Moreover, the sedentary lifestyle associated with eating ready-to-eat meals, particularly among younger generations, is becoming increasingly common. Many young people spend more time playing computer games after eating fast food, further decreasing their activity levels. As a result, health problems are rising every year.
Taking everything into consideration, eating fast food has both advantages and disadvantages. In my opinion, consuming fast food occasionally may not be harmful, but reducing its intake can significantly improve one’s health.
