In developing nations large infrastructure projects as power plants are fully funded and controlled by private companies than their governements. In my opinion, this can be deemed as a positive development since it not only facilitates the countries development but also provides more employment opportunities
The key reason why this is a positive trend is that it aids the third world countries development. This is because most developing countries, do not have sufficient funds to develop or manage public sectors and as a result, citizens face a vast array of problems for example, electricity shortages. Therefore, private companies get involved in the development of infrastructure projects and manage them after construction. Consequently, more state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge technologies will be developed in third-word countries, which is a substantial benefit for the country’s development. If private companies had not gotten involved, then governments would have found it difficult to provide services to their residents.
Another striking reason to argue that this is a positive development is that it can help decrease the brain drain in developing nations. This is because when private companies begin to develop infrastructure projects, they will need skilled professionals. And as result, local skilled workers will have more job opportunities domestically. Consequently, they will be more encouraged to stay in their home countries than moving abroad.
In conclusion, although some may view funding and managing infrastructure projects by private companies as a negative development, I believe this is primarily a positive trend because it helps a country’s development and reduces professional migration in developing countries.
