In multiple parts of the world, more individuals are emerging as obese leading to a sedentary culture. Especially in this century, teens are highly exposed to junk food and desk jobs, which is ultimately the reason behind the rapid increase in overweight and other risks. The most significant reasons for this state would be, firstly, the variety of junk available to children at a young age, which makes them addicted to it. In addition, more and more people are moving towards desk jobs, therefore, people are having minimal physical activity. The solution to this condition would be, to ban junk foods for children below the age of 14, and inculcate physical fitness hours in all schools, colleges, and workplaces.
As the reasons discussed earlier, the most prominent causes would be, the availability of processed foods to the young generation. Children will not have any idea about the negative impact caused by these edibles, incorporation of colour, flavour, and shell life increaser agents are used to pre-packed foods to be in the market for a longer time, therefore, because of all these additives foods are becoming hazardous in the long run to children who got used to having those items every day. For example, from an early age, I have been given candy bars when I finish my homework before the stipulated time, after a period it became a habit of having candy every day resulting in resistance to sugar currently. In today’s contemporary life, individuals are starting to move towards simple desk jobs rather than working in the field, this has led to a sedentary lifestyle, because of very negligible physical activities. For instance, before the 20th century, work related to information technology, and other computer-based jobs was minimal, unlike today.
The solution to these problems would be, abducting the pre-packed foods, and laying an age-based restriction to consume the processed foods. This restriction at a young age, dependency on these can be prevented. To illustrate, if these foods aren’t given to children at a younger age the chances of them not getting dependent on these have fewer chances. Similarly, the inculcation, of physical education and activities should be the primary program to abstain people from getting obese, these programs must be introduced in schools, colleges, and jobs, thereby, the overall activity of an individual will be improved, especially the desk job workers will get benefits of these programs, mentally and physically.
In conclusion, a high number of people are getting obese in this contemporary life, leading to a sedentary life culture, especially teens who are exposed to the fast-food, and gradually moving to desk-oriented jobs, rather than looking for fieldwork. The solution to this problem cannot be solved only by the government, it has to concern every individual. The most important program, that can be imposed to prevent getting overweight is the ban on junk for children under the age of 14. In the same way, physical education and activities will increase the overall activity of individuals.
