In recent years, there is an increasing number of fresh graduates having difficulty in seeking a job. In this essay, I will elaborate on how this issue affects both individuals and society and propose viable methods for that.
The problems of this phenomenon can be closely intertwined with the youth and community as a whole. Firstly, regarding individuals, they may suffer from low self-esteem when making comparisons with their peers, leading to the cause of mental health issues, insomnia, and depression. According to the recent survey, the rise in unemployment rates in China results in depression and suicide among adolescents. Secondly, concerning society, this trend leads to the significant increase in crime rates as they are lacking expenses to cover their life. Thus, people have no choice but resort to unlawful acts to make a means of livelihood and provide financial support for their families.
However, the aforementioned problems can be resolved by several measures. Government plays a vital role in addressing this issue by allocating budgets and public welfare programs for unemployment benefits. This not only necessitates people to relieve financial burden, but also assists them to have monetary resources and time to hone their working skills, thereby having more career opportunities. Additionally, authorities can also organize job orientation workshops to offer tips and give information about market demand before deciding majors. As a result, there will be a substantial reduction in the unemployment rate, leading to the balance in the workforce.
In conclusion, being unemployed after graduation poses a threat to young people’s mental fitness, as well as the sustainable development of society. Nevertheless, this phenomenon can be addressed with the state interference with financial aid and the provision of career conferences.
