In society nowadays, consumption habits and lifestyles of children differ a lot from back in older generation society and there is a belief that this is damaging to their health. Regarding this statement, I absolutely agree that the advancements made and rushing society has a drastic effect on a child’s well-being.
In earlier societies, foods had less negative ingredients and are mostly organic. Comparing it to modern society, the ingredient list shows a lot of differences such as more fat, sugar, or even MSG. Kids used to love a homemade meal made with love from parents, but nowadays kids prefer to order online fast food because it’s “delicious”, addictive, and the delivery takes less time than cooking without knowing whether the ingredients used to make their meals are healthy or not, their only concern is convenience. Eating habits back then used to be simple and healthy, a simple meal with vegetables and meat is really beneficial for children because it fulfills the need of proteins, carbohydrates, and vitamins so kids can be healthier and more active in their daily lives.
Another factor on a child’s well-being is their lifestyle. Modern advancements, such as games, can put a child’s health at risk depending on how much they are exposed to the games nowadays. Games around the world are addictive, especially because they are fast-paced and are really addictive, it is dangerous and can bring a negative impact on a child because games ,which are recently published, encourage us to spend money to buy in game cosmetics which really captures our attention and if a child’s parent don’t care on how their child spends their money, it will lead to a really lavish and negative lifestyle which will be difficult to erase in the far future. Games used to be slow-paced with no actual goal other than to enjoy the game itself, they are meant to be played with friends and family, building bonds that will last a lifetime, but sadly, hardly any games nowadays share the same purpose.
To conclude, lifestyles and eating habits worsens everyday. More and more children are getting addicted to lavish and addictive lifestyles, becoming more obese as a cause of excessive amounts of fast-food consumption. As society gets more advanced, returning to older ways of life might be the way to keep a healthy and balanced life for everyone.
