In my opinion, consumers going to a supermarket and buying food produced all over the world is a positive development because of the fact that it helps expand the country’s markets and its economy.
My first reason is the products that are being produced overseas are products that are from a different country with a different culture. The import of these products help improve the global market, for instance importing a huge amount of fruits from a small country, this helps the country itself to stand up the global market showing their goods to the world resulting in better economic growth and ultimately skyrocketing their currency. The negative impact about this is that those countries might use inappropriate labor, for example child labor. This can cause poverty in certain areas and moreover starvation in the country. If the government focuses only on exporting goods.
Another reason is the world economy. Importing foods from countries over the world helps add more money into the world economy by increasing the number of exports for smaller countries and improving their economy and putting more money into the world. Other than that globalization helps countries expand their businesses but also increase the employment rate in other countries, resulting in more money for individual workers and also more money for the company itself. Food and human needs that are imported from this is a fantastic way to let people in the country know about other countries’ goods resulting in a cultural shift.
To conclude, individuals buying food from all over the world is a positive effect to both the country’s economy itself and also the world economy, pushing up the employment rate in smaller countries and putting them in the spot that the world powers can see.
