Band 8+: In many countries online shopping is becoming more and more popular. Some people think that this is having negative impacts on the society. To what extent do you agree or disagree and give your opinion.

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

In recent years, especially in many large cities, online shopping has become significantly popular, mainly due to technological developments and a fast-paced lifestyle. This trend has led to the closure of many traditional shops. While some people argue that e-commerce is beneficial for consumers and brings several advantages, it also carries serious negative consequences for local communities. In my opinion, although online shopping is convenient, its overall impact is more negative than positive.

On the one hand, the rise of online shopping causes many local shops to shut down, which negatively affects local economies. When these businesses close, many people lose their jobs, leading to higher unemployment rates and lower household income. Additionally, online shopping not only reduces face-to-face communication but also declines social interaction. In other words, this trend forces individuals to rely on their isolated spaces instead of community environments.

On the other hand, online shopping offers several facilities for consumers. First of all, it is extremely convenient, as people can shop at any time and from anywhere without leaving their homes. This is particularly useful for those with fast-paced lifestyles. In addition, online platforms often offer a variety of products at lower prices, which allows customers to compare items and find the best deals. As a result, people save not only their time but also their money.

In conclusion, although online shopping brings convenience and lower prices, I believe its disadvantages outweigh its advantages. The closure of local shops harms employment opportunities and weakens community life, making this trend a largely negative development.

A global international body proposes a binding agreement that restricts individual countries from spending more than a fixed percentage of their national budget on military expansion, redirecting those excess funds to climate resilience and humanitarian aid. Proponents argue this is essential for global stability. Opponents argue it violates national sovereignty and undermines national defense. Take a clear stand either in favor of or against this binding agreement.

This is a very complicated situation that touches upon national sovereignty and global issues. Redirecting funds to solving climate and humanitarian fields are highly proposed by pacific activists, but it breaks down because of national interests. I’m of the opinion that we should prioritize national goals and interests over global moods. First and foremost, every […]

In several countries, local governments have begun to restore native wildlife species (e.g., wolves or beavers) into suburban areas to address ecological imbalances. Why are such reintroduction programs happening? Do you think the long-term consequences of living alongside these animals will be more helpful or harmful for local communities?

Numerous countries started reintroducing native wild animals in suburban territories to achieve ecological balance. The primary reason for this changes is the need of reducing the environmental imbalance caused by extinction of species. I firmly believe that in the long perspective consequences will bring several drawbacks to people living nearby, such as constant risk of […]
