It is widely acknowledged that global passion toward artistic work has declined dramatically and this trend is more dominant among youngsters. With the advent of digital devices, people are more interested in passing their time scrolling on social media rather than engaging in activities that require time and energy. I firmly believe that the main root of this issue is the over-use of Internet in daily lives and this dilemma can only be raised by the intervene of governments, proposing a structured plan to encourage adolescents in order to take on responsibility about exquisite art. This essay unequivocally examines the problem and proposes viable solutions on the matter.
This societal shift has caused several serious drawbacks, the most obvious being that technology has been deeply embedded in people’s lives, leading to a change in perspectives and lifestyles. Hence, younger generation are suffering from digital addiction which has fueled an immense overlook about cultural heritage and artistic exhibitions. Since learning a new skill such as music, painting, or sport is a time-consuming process, many cannot deeply understand the prime values and prefer sedentary lifestyle. Therefore, individuals spend prolonged hours on screen and waste their time and resources instead of equipping themselves with a useful task.
One ingenious remedy could be that the authorities ponder stricter regulations for including aesthetic expressions into the children’s curriculum at school. This action not only fosters children’s creativity, but also nurtures their talent. As a result, students will have a deeper vision toward their competence and also enriches their knowledge about history and culture. For example, in Japan, kids are compelled to opt for on extra-curriculum program since they enter the school. Thus, the rate of critical and analytical thinking about societal and cultural events is considerably high, thanks to the schooling policies.
It is reasonable to conclude that the diminished tendency of learning art is a major concern in this modern world. However, I am of the opinion that society can tackle this by a cooperation between citizens and government, having students take in art-related information from early ages.
