One of the most common health problems in the world is obesity. People around the world are disquieted about statistics of children who are overweight. In my point of view, the main cause of this issue is poor nutrition and an unhealthy lifestyle. Also, replacing bad habits with good ones might be a solution.
Two highly influential factors for children obesity are consuming junk food and living an unhealthy life. Specifically, junk food has much more non-natural calories than regular food, and children can gain unhealthy calories without noticing it. Moreover, these types of food often contain extreme amounts of sugar, which will badly affect childrens’ body and weight. In addition, having no sports or any other activities can also play a negative role on weight, because without sports the body does not burn enough calories, which leads to weight gain. For example, my little brother’s friend Sam has added a couple of kilograms only in a month because of bad lifestyle and eating a lot of fast food.
Of course there is a useful solution to this problem: replacing bad habits into new ones. Analyzing and working on unhealthy habits such as overeating, or low physical activity can absolutely solve this issue. Instead of overeating, eating healthy products such as fruits and vegetables will help cut the childrens’ weight. By the same token, participating in sports that require physical activity will be the second way of cutting weight. For instance, a television program called “HealthHabits” made an experiment, when they added healthy habits to children suffering from obesity. Interestingly, after only a couple of weeks, kids significantly lost weight.
In conclusion, even if some kids are suffering because of being overweight caused by poor nutrition, there is always a way to solve it by changing bad habits with new, healthy ones.
