In recent years, it has become increasingly prevalent for young people to become obese. While many adults are concerned about children who are overweight, many factors like sedentary lifestyle or poor eating habits are responsible for this serious health problem.
Without a doubt, one of the primary causes of children obesity is the physically inactive lifestyle. As children, they should play in playgrounds, doing different activities and having fun with their peers, however they are spending their time on various video games or surfing on social media, which in turn undermines their desire in physical activities. A case in point is my country, Uzbekistan, where many young individuals waste significantly long time on digital devices in comparison with physical exercises. In addition, many young children do not follow a healthy diet which ultimately leads to become more obese and unhealth. Consequently, many youngsters around the world suffer from excessive weight due to these factors.
There are several solutions to efficiently mitigate these problems. Firstly, both elder people and governments should encourage younger generation to exercise regularly which not only helps to enhance overall well-being but also reduces obesity levels among them. One striking example for this policy is developed countries like Japan and South Korea offers special rewards like fitness tracker or running shoes for children if they lose 5kg per month. Secondly, Young people should reduce their consumption of fast foods and sugary drinks and also local authorities should impose strict regulations on junk foods that contributes obesity among youngsters. For instance, children in Norway are not allowed to follow unhealthy diet until the age of 9 years old. As a result, many young individuals in Norway do not face obesity problems.
In conclusion, although many children are attempting to lose weight across the globe, obesity rate is increasing gradually among them. To effectively tackle this issue, government and parents’ collaboration is needed.
