In different part of the world, the rapid growth of cities has resulted in the decline of community cohension. Although this trend could be caused by busy urban lifestyle and high cost of living. However, government creating community spaces and individuals making an effort to interacts with their neighbours could strengthen social bonds in urban areas.

One significant factor contributing to this trend is the increasingly busy lifestyle of urban residents. People in cities are often busy with work, communting and personal responsibilities. This creates less free time, limited interaction with neighbours and fewer community activities. For example, people who work long hours may return home tired and prefer to rest rather than attend neighbourhood events or socialise with people. As a result, discouraging social connections among locals.

Another significant factor contributing to this trend is the high cost of living. Expensive housing, transportation, food and other necessities creates financial pressure. People may therefore work longer hours or take additional jobs to meet their expenses, leaving them with less time for social interaction. For instance, residents struggling with expensive rent and transportation may take additional work, leaving little time for community exercises. As a result, financial pressure can reduce people’s participation in communityy life and gradually weaken social bonds within urban areas.

To address this issue, governments and individuals should work together to strengthen community relationships through encouraging positive community spaces, social gathering, parks, community centres and individuals making adequate efforts to interact with other residents. This measures can make the residents feel safer and more comfortable interacting with people in the neighbourhood. For example, governments can create or improve parks where residents can exercise, relax and socialise. As a result, people have more opportunities to meet their neighbours and develop stronger relationship.

In conclusion, strengthening of community cohension is important, therefore governments and individuals should make an effort in encouraging social interactions through community activities and making positive efforts toward interacting with their fellow residents.
