Working from home has caused a significant decrease in the public transportation system causing massive loss on transit systems. This is majorly attributed to technological advancement and personal preferences.
First, technology has led to a decline in public transportation system. This is because many people can work from home and meet their daily targets without travelling to work. Additionally, technology makes work easier and efficient . For instance, a teacher required to submit students’ marks can do so easily through an online app without physically going to school. Hence, this has caused a drastic drop in the profit made by public transportation systems. Additionally, many people people prefer working from home. This is due to the fact that they want comfortability. Some of them for example young mothers decide to work from home so that they can take proper care of their children. Therefore, the failure to travel causes a decline in transport systems.
To avert this problem, the government should encourage balancing the two options. People should at least visit their work place since it encourages collaboration, creativity and teamwork. For example, when people meet in the office they share ideas .Thus this will enhance transport systems since people will be travelling daily to work. In addition, workplaces should be friendly to young mothers. This will make them to travel daily to work therefore enhancing public transportation systems. For example, stations can be set aside for breastfeeding children. This will encourage people to travel daily to work hence boosting the transport systems.
In conclusion, people should be encouraged to visit their workplaces to enhance public transport systems. The government should create public awareness on the importance of public systems therefore leading to an increase in profit in public transit.
