Modern society makes a lot of young people struggle with their future. In many nations around the world, it has become a common belief for young people to be participating in extra classes in the evenings. This trend has become popular due to the desire to be successful in a competitive world. I believe that this trend is beneficial for several reasons, as it improves students’ academic performance as well as their critical thinking.
To begin with, extra classes help students to strengthen their knowledge about previous lessons taught in school. In many educational systems, the curriculum is heavily theoretical, which will make students struggle to fully understand all the information. Extra courses provide young people with opportunities to enhance their knowledge, review harder questions that are not in main classes, and ask their teachers about problems they have to face. This additional learning time can make students’ academic performance significantly improved, specifically in numbers related subjects, such as math, physics, or science, where the formula is very repetitive and they have to do it a lot of time to master. For example, in Vietnam and other Asia countries, where evening classes are common, students consistently perform very well in the international competitions.
Moreover, evening classes also improve students the discipline and time management skills. Adjusting extra classes with other work such as projects, homework, and free time will help young people develop a better management skills, students who attend extra classes often has a better concentration skills, hard-working habits. These skills are not only important for schools but also crucial for the future.
In conclusion, I believe that attending extra classes in the evening is a very good idea. It helps young people in both academic and practical skills to prepare for the further education, for the competitive world outside of school.
