Human priorities and values have undoubtedly evolved over time. As a result, it has become common for one parent to care for a newborn and raise them while the other parent goes to work.
According to me, the presence of a caregiver is crucial for a child’s mental and physical growth. However, this trend can increase the financial burden on one parent.
A child needs proper care and attention from a guardian during their formative years. Having a parent to care for a young child helps them grow healthily. For example, in India, newborns are raised with great care by their parents, resulting in better mental and physical health. Additionally, the care provided by guardians plays a significant role in a child’s character development. A child who is taught better ethics and values under a parent’s guidance tends to have a better character.
On the other hand, the rising cost of living has made it difficult for one parent to earn enough to support the family. If a single parent works, it may lead to financial crises, which can cause conflicts between caregivers. For instance, in India, where the father is often the sole breadwinner, the financial burden on him can be overwhelming, leading to sacrifices in terms of vacations, hobbies, or even basic necessities.
In conclusion, while having a stay-at-home parent has its advantages, it can also lead to financial problems and conflicts between parents. In my opinion, the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
