Hypermarkets have been booming around the world, and small businesses do not have a chance to take place in these markets. From my perspective, this situation has pros and cons, but the positive aspects outweigh the negatives.
In the last century, big shops, like large chains, have started their own businesses. Since that time, small shops, like hypermarkets, have lost their own customers. They do not have the capacity to compete with these markets. First, people have a chance to find everything, like supplements and toys, at these markets. Also, people save time when they go shopping. In addition, chain stores occupy large areas, and they have the capacity to absorb many workers. For example, they need cashiers and butchers, but small businesses do not have facilities like that.
On the other hand, many people have lost their businesses, and most of them have refused to work as workers in large chains. These people need to earn money to stay alive. For this reason, they ought to work if they do not want to be employees. They must have enough money to run their businesses, but if they do not have one, they should set out work in these markets.
All in all, small businesses have lost their power when large chains have started their own businesses. For this reason, most of them have stopped their activities. Also, hypermarkets have the capacity to absorb many workers from a variety of fields, like butchers and bakeries, and small businesses do not have the ability to absorb more people to work.
