It is a common belief that it is unimportant to teach the child handwriting skill. Personally, I partially disagree with this viewpoint since this skill still has diverse outweigh benefits.
On the one hand, handwriting can be gradually replaced by typing due to its cumbersome. Thanks to the prevalence of digitalization, more and more people especially the youth are now inclined to utilize multiple applications such as Word, Note, etc. to record the information since they are more flexible and sometimes even portable compared to the traditional method. Facts have shown that most students born in recent digital generation tend to complete their essays or homework via their computer as this is prone to conspicuously solves handwriting-related issues including misspelling, unreadable words, etc.
on the other hand, teaching handwriting capacity could be a pragmatic substitute for children to learn multiple soft ability. This education instils in toddlers a sense of being patient and simultaneously creates diverse opportunities to ameliorate interpersonal and communicating abilities. Research have cited that most offsprings that parents encourage to study writing in their early age tend to be an extrovert individual when growing up. Thus, they have abundant social relationships enabling them to develop comprehensively and being likely to succeed in the future.
All in all, while that learning handwriting capability is undeniable that handwriting seems to be outdated and dominated by other alternative measures, it is apparent that it can be beneficial for toddlers to enhance their practical capacities. On my point of view, I strongly believe that this still needs to be included in curriculum officially due to its essential advantages for well-rounded development.
