In society today, the number of people that engage in sporting activities for relaxation, work, or hobby has risen significantly. Some people have the notion that success in sports is inborn and tied to natural ability while another faction thinks success in sports is centered around dedication and hard work. Although the proponents of the former notion are not totally wrong, I believe that constant practice, resilience and determination can make one successful in sports.
Several people who are successful in sports today are naturals. Their innate ability gives them an edge over others who are not naturally gifted. For example, people who have natural speed and strength will do well in endurance sports like football while those who are considerably taller than others will excel in basketball where height is needed to score. These natural endowments place them higher among their peers and increase their chances of excelling in sports.
On the other hand, frequent trainings can help one develop the necessary skills needed to achieve success in sporting events. For instance, running severally develops endurance needed for relays and other types of races. Additionally, dedicating several hours daily to sports, helps to harness inbuilt talents resulting in professional experience needed for long-term success and relevance in the sports industry.
In conclusion, inbred abilities may serve as an initial motivation, however, hard work, resilience, and dedication are essential qualities required to develop and maintain optimum performance in sporting activities. Therefore, frequent training is essential for continuous success in sports.
